Prostate & Testicular Screening
Our male screening services provide a way of identifying apparently healthy people who may have an increased risk of a particular condition.
As well as our Well Man Checks at our Solihull clinic, we also provide essential male screening for testicular conditions and prostate examinations.
Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA)
Elevated levels of PSA in the blood sample (greater than 4ng/ml) may be an important signal of possible prostate disease. PSA is a protein produced by the prostate and released in very small amounts into the bloodstream. When there is a problem with the prostate, such as enlarged prostate, prostatitis or the development of prostate cancer, more and more PSA is released until it reaches a level where it can be easily detected in the blood.
Testicular Awareness and Screening
A self-testicular exam is an inspection of the appearance and feel of your testicles.
You can also do a testicular exam yourself typically standing in front of a mirror. This will give you great awareness of the condition of your testicles and help you detect changes when they occur.
